{"id":3033,"date":"2020-10-20T12:17:26","date_gmt":"2020-10-20T12:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/trainingcoachingsquare.be\/coaching-mentoring-academy\/?p=3033"},"modified":"2020-10-20T12:17:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-20T12:17:27","slug":"recommendations-for-when-you-are-taking-online-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/trainingcoachingsquare.be\/coaching-mentoring-academy\/en\/recommendations-for-when-you-are-taking-online-training\/","title":{"rendered":"Recommendations for when you are taking online training"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.&nbsp; How to optimize your learning experience through&nbsp; \u2018virtual classroom training\u2019 ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We offer a \u2018virtual classroom training\u2019 as if we were really present as a trainer in the training.&nbsp; We use presentations and we are really in a classroom setting with an interactive whiteboard and big screens for the trainer to really connect with the participants.&nbsp; We will organize interactive moments of \u2018content sharing\u2019 \u2013 webinar \u2013 discussion \u2013 debate \u2013 breakoutrooms \u2013 buddygroup exercises etc. The learning methods will bring variety and will invite to fully participate and be fully present.<\/li><li><em>With the learning center \u2018a new spring\u2019 the availability of pre-reflection and homejoy will prepare your mindset for the learning module to come.<\/em>&nbsp; The prereflection is really a preparation for the learning modules and we will ask for your opinion, your learning goals and learnings.&nbsp;<\/li><li>When working on your assignments, <strong>try time-blocking<\/strong>, allowing yourself a certain amount of time for each task before moving on to the next one and setting a timer to keep you accountable.<\/li><li><strong>Check in periodically throughout the senior leadership journey time of 8 months<\/strong>, and look at how you\u2019re spending your time. Ask yourself: How much time am I dedicating to course reading and assignments? Am I regularly underestimating the time it\u2019s taking me to get things done, forcing me to cram the nights before the exams? A little self-reflection and adjustment can go a long way<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.&nbsp; So we invite you to be present in the \u2018virtual classroom\u2019 and treat the virtual classroom\u2019\u2019 course like a \u201creal\u201d course.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to online classes, you need to have the discipline to sit down and say, \u201cI am going to work on this,\u201d as well as the dedication to actually follow through. Though you can be flexible as to when you choose to complete your work in between the modules, you can\u2019t put it off indefinitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the easiest ways to ensure follow through is to remember that you\/your employer is investing in you to take this online course, just as you would for a traditional, in-person class. You must \u201cshow up\u201d if you\u2019re going to get real value out of your class. Treat your online classes the same way you would a face-to-face class\u2014or, better yet, a job\u2014and you\u2019ll be off to the right start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.&nbsp; IMPROVE your participation in an online training \u2013 harvest from your training as if it were life training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your presence \u2013 intention \u2013 attention are crucial in any learning process.<\/li><li>In an online training it is however even more important to&nbsp; focus on your learning process without distraction \u2013<\/li><li>clear your head, your agenda and focus to get the maximum out of your time and effort<\/li><li>When you are really fully present in your online training, you can harvest equally of the training as if it was a life training.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The variation in the online training between \u2018transfer of knowledge\u2019 \u2013 \u2018self-reflection\u2019 \u2013 discussion \u2013 Q&amp;A \u2013 videos &#8211;&nbsp; breakout rooms will make it possible to keep your attention focussed during the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If the content of the training puts you in a self-blaming situation or in judgement, note your remarks somewhere and let them go for that moment (you can look at them later on, the importance is to keep your focus without getting lost in your negative brainscripts )<\/li><li>Whatever distracts you, refocus on the interaction between trainer and participants, on the new information and attitude.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Your unprejudiced listening will help you to have a positive learning mindset and to let go of the fear of allowing new insights. You will loose less time in your resilience if you keep your attention focussed, and reflect on your thoughts, doubts and questions afterwards.<\/li><li>The intention of your learning process is to&nbsp; enhance positive change for yourself and for the common interest.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.&nbsp; Improved Interaction in an online training or virtual classroom training :<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Installing your learning environment in a way that you are fully available and have all materials around you,&nbsp; can help you in your \u2018being fully present\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make sure your telephone is off<\/li><li>Do not allow mails to interrupt your process<\/li><li>Work with your \u2018out of office\u2019 as you would do when you participate in a \u2018life training\u2019<\/li><li>Inform your professional environment that you are\u2019in training\u2019 and unavailable<\/li><li>Use breakoutrooms without supervision as if somebody was watching you \u2013 give actively feedback to each other in the breakoutrooms.<\/li><li>Use your breaks to reload your energy \u2013 do not go into \u2018answering mails\u2019 \u2013 \u2018making a quick call\u2019. Several breaks will be planned in every session: use these opportunities to stretch your body or have a walk<\/li><li>Make sure the training is not interrupted by other people<\/li><li>Install your environment in a way that it influences you positively (eg air \u2013 warm\/cold etc \u2013 drinks \u2013 notebook etc) &#8211; Clear your desk<\/li><li>Sit comfortably as if you were in a training room \u2013 not as if you are in front of your screen typing.<\/li><li>Eliminate distractions &amp; find a quiet place<\/li><li>From Netflix to social media to dishes piling up in the sink, you\u2019ll be faced with many distractions that can easily derail your studies. The best online students know how to lessen these distractions and set aside time to focus.<\/li><li>Exactly how much of a challenge these distractions will prove to be will depend on your own unique personality and situation. Some might find that they can tune out a noisy home by listening to music. Others might choose to work from a local coffee shop or library to eliminate their urge to multitask at home. Ultimately, you will need to find a strategy that works best for you.<\/li><li>Regardless of where you choose to work, consider turning your cell phone off to avoid losing focus every time a text message or notification pops up. And if you\u2019re still having trouble resisting the temptation to check your email or surf the web, try downloading a website blocker. Using applications like Cold Turkey and Freedom can help eliminate distractions by blocking the apps or websites that tend to compete for your attention, such as Facebook and Twitter.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.&nbsp; The effect of your presence on the other participants&nbsp; &#8211; participate actively<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You are in a virtual classroom \u2013 so you have an impact on the other participants as if you were in a life setting.<\/li><li>Think about what effect it has on you if someone moves places or screens all the time.<\/li><li>Use your technology \u2013 mute or disconnect your video in case you are interrupted \u2013 when demo-exercises are done, it is better to only see the people who are in the demo.<\/li><li>Do the maximum for yourself and the others. The ideal world does not exist, so do not get nervous if your plans don\u2019t work &#8211;&nbsp; take action, let go and reconnect with trainer and group.<\/li><li>Hold yourself accountable for your learnings and organize the buddy system in a way that it serves your learnings<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.&nbsp; Attitude to get used to virtual classroom setup for important and in depth learning processes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We all want the best in these situations, some planning and extra attention to your organisation might help. If not, let it go and ask yourself how can it be more successful for me the next time.<\/li><li>It is your choice to take all the possible lessons from the virtual classroom training \u2013 act and interact&nbsp; as if you were in a \u2018life classroom setting\u2019<\/li><li>Be interactive \u2013 ask your questions \u2013 give answers as if you were really together in a life setting<\/li><li>Get out of the \u2018not possible for me\u2019 mindset if you are in it<\/li><li>Enjoy the presence of yourself \u2013 the other participants and the trainer<\/li><li>Stick to training rules of the \u2018life training\u2019 &#8211; By being organized, proactive, and self-aware, you can get the most from your online class even when life outside of these trainings becomes chaotic.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.&nbsp; How to optimize your learning experience through&nbsp; \u2018virtual classroom training\u2019 ?
