Change moves fast: are you the leader your team needs?

In the business world, change isn’t a slow burn: it’s a wildfire. New tech, shifting markets, evolving client demands: everything moves fast.
But while businesses adapt quickly, people don’t always tend to go along. Resistance to change is natural, and as a leader, managing that resistance, both in your team and yourself, is the key to staying ahead.
Spot resistance before it becomes a roadblock
Change triggers all kinds of reactions: doubt, frustration, even quiet disengagement. Some employees push back openly, while others subtly drag their feet. And here’s the kicker: leaders aren’t immune to this either.
That “gut feeling” against a new strategy? That might be your own resistance talking.
Lead through change
Try to acknowledge the discomfort. People resist change because it feels risky. Validate those feelings instead of dismissing them.
Communicate the “why”. If the vision is clear, people are more likely to get on board.
Make space for feedback . Involving your team in the process reduces resistance and increases ownership.
Check yourself. Be honest about your own hesitations. Leading change starts with embracing it yourself. The best leaders don’t just push change: they guide people through it. That’s a skill no manager can afford to ignore.
