Master Certified Coach Mentoring program

• 3 half-day mentoring sessions – both group and individual
• Objective: to create two quality videotapes that you can submit to the International Coach Federation for approval of your MCC – Certificate

With a mini-group (from 4 to 8 people) you will start a joint exploration with self-observation and reflection so that you can get closer and closer to this Master Coach Attitude. Part of your journey can be undertaken individually or you can use your learning group in your further development and quest.

Workform

During these half-day sessions, you will work on the basis of recorded videotapes that you record with clients (with their approval). You will write out the video in transcript so we can zoom in on elements you find important. These reflections are interspersed with short demos and collaborative focus exercises. As we listen, we collectively sense what is happening to our energy as listeners. We discover what energies are helping to bring higher awareness to the client and how each deals with the perception of these energy flows.

This program consists of the following elements:

1 Focus & Objectives (half day)

• During the startup, it becomes clearer what ICF expects in terms of MCC competencies and how they differ from PCC markers.
• How do you go about this process? With focus on your certificate or with focus on your learning process?
• What is the ‘state of mind’ of the MCC coach? How do you stay in observation of yourself and the other while still being connected?

2 Reflective Supervision: Individual Tape Discussion (2 half days)

You bring a recording of a coaching that you believe ICF does not yet consider “Masterful” enough. We will discuss together what could have been done differently and what is needed to do so. You decide which are the focal points for your learning process. You learn as much from listening to the videotapes of others.

Based on the themes that presented themselves during Reflective Supervision, thematic work continues.

Examples of themes are:

• How can I be more present, go into an equal relationship with all my sentiments and use myself as an instrument?
• How can I develop my capacity that leads to deeper trust and intimacy, allowing all that is hidden to show itself naturally?
• How can I fine-tune and tune my questions to what shows up in the moment so that the essence emerges more quickly?
• How can I listen more and more to what remains hidden or is left out and develop an inviting attitude for this?
• How can I discover my personal gatekeepers that inhibit me from opening up these deeper layers in Masterful Coaching?
• What form of pseudo-self-protection still holds me back from making contact with my different self-images and ways of being? All of us have unconscious fears – self-sabotages that inhibit us from engaging our full potential.

To obtain the MCC certificate, ICF asks that in addition to proving your 2,500 hours of coaching practice, you also submit two videotapes that according to you reflect the level of MCC.

Obviously, you want to increase the chances that ICF will approve your videotape. And it is definitely a quest to discover exactly what ICF means by MCC competencies. Perhaps you would like support from someone who has traveled this road very deliberately?

In the course of your journey, you make three to four tapes of coaching conversations between 30 and 50 minutes that you transcribe (or have transcribed) into a transcript
